Leah White & the Magic Mirrors: LISTEN
Mrs. Jones

This song was inspired by moms who told me they wanted a song written about those crazy neighbors that try to one-up eveyone with their decorations annually. Mrs. Jones actually blows her house up in the end after 12 day so of non-stop decorating for Christmas.
My Dad, Jay Horton, played the banjo in this song and it made it so much fun.
Oh Mrs. Jones down the street and to the right
Starts before Thanksgiving to hang her X-mas Lights
Every year she puts more decorations on her front lawn
Next year I wouldn’t be surprised if her house was gone
On the 12th Day of X-mas
She put out 12 candy canes
Neatly in a row
You’d think she was insane
On the 11th Day of X-mas
An inflated Santa Clause
And she kept on going without a pause
On the 10th Day of X-mas
She hung a Million Lights
The neighbors on the street said
“Man that is bright”
On the 9th Day of X-mas
Snowman and Reindeer
Boy that Lady puts out more and more every year!
Oh Mrs. Jones down the street and to the right
Starts before Thanksgiving to hang her X-mas Lights
Every year she puts more decorations on her front lawn
Next year I wouldn’t be surprised if her house was gone
On the 8th Day of X-mas
She hung ornaments in Trees
Got a machine to make fake snow flurries
On the 7th Day of X-mas
A North Pole scene in front
But don’t think for a minute that’s she done.
On the 6th Day of X-mas
6 X-mas trees were placed
But she thought her yard was a big disgrace
So on the 5th Day of Christmas
She hung 5 Holly Wreathes
Please Mrs. Jones, No more Please!
Oh Mrs. Jones down the street and to the right
Starts before Thanksgiving to hang her X-mas Lights
Every year she puts more decorations on her front lawn
Next year I wouldn’t be surprised if her house was gone
On the 4th Day of X-mas A Manger scene displayed
A flock of farm animals where the Baby Jesus laid
On the 3rd Day a X-mas
She added Mrs. Clause
And she kept on going without a pause
On the 2nd Day of X-mas
She woke up to realize that all the neighbors had their lights up much to her surprise
So she worked all day and worked all night
To have the best decorations in plain sight
On the 1st Day of X-mas
All the neighbors were in shock
Where there used to be a house was no house at all!
Just one big present with one big bow
And when she turned her lights on the house did BLOW!!!!!!
Oh Mrs. Jones down the street and to the right
Starts before Thanksgiving to hang her X-mas Lights
Every year she puts more decorations on her front lawn
Next year I wouldn’t be surprised if her house was gone
