Leah White spends most of her time playing on the playground on sunny days with her children Lauren, Nora and Jillian. Her favorite food is anything Tex-Mex and her favorite color is purple. As a girl Leah was exceptionally good on roller skates and riding her bike. She beat many boys in bike races and competitions. Leah started playing piano at age 6 and guitar at 16. She wrote her first song when she was 17 and continues to write new music on all of the albums. She keeps all of the Magic Mirrors in line by making them share toys and having them speak nicely to one another. These days you will see her at the shows with her family in front, a wireless mic in one hand and running around in the audience dancing and singing with the crowd with extreme high energy and enthusiam.
Paul Beebe is a reformed school bully. However, he has learned that having a kind heart and sharing with others is what life is all about. His favorite food is Mexican and his favorite color is blue. As a boy he loved trains and had an entire room filled with them at one point. He grew up with two older brothers that would pick on him and so he learned to be tough. He started playing piano at age 6 and at 15 picked up a guitar. After that, he learned to play bass, drums and can pretty much work his way around any instrument. He was in his school choir but they could not tame his rock 'n roll voice. Today you will see him recording Leah White albums in The Beebe Gunn Studio and producing other artists as they move up in their careers. He's in tons of bands in Houston but as a Magic Mirror you will see him on the bass doing his crazy Gorilla noise for Old MacDonald and pegging the little kids with our beach balls.
Jim Henkel is the mad scientist. He loves science but not as much as he loves music. Jim started playing guitar when he was 13 years old. He still remember his first guitar and still has it. He has sisters and brothers but he has always been the peacemaker in making sure his siblings always got along. You will frequently see Jim with a smile on his face and he makes all of the other Magic Mirrors happy. He keeps Paul from picking on Leah White when she doesn't know the words to all of her songs. Jim's specialty is playing the Chicken Dance. He strikes notes on the guitar that actually sound like a chicken and the crowd goes wild. Jim plays in gigs around Houston. He also records his own material and writes his own music. His favorite food is Chinese and he loves the color green.
Steve Candeleri is our fashion designer of the group. He grew up changing clothes in front of the mirror and flexing his biceps several times before he would go out and play with neighborhood friends. He quickly took up drums at 16 years old and never looked back. Steve enjoys shopping for vintage clothes and finds all kinds of outfits for his bandmembers. You will never see Steve without his trusty pal, Junior, a terrior that is like a brother to him. Junior will come along to band practice and hang out. Steve plays in many bands around Houston, but Junior's favorite band is Leah White & The Magic Mirrors so Steve loves to play drums for this band. Steve's favorite food is home cookin' and his favorite color is fuchsia.
