ABOUT THE MAIN EVENT: The Periwinkle Foundation presents Texas Children’s Cancer Center’s Making A Mark® -an exhibit of art and creative writing by children touched by cancer and blood disorders.
This year’s event features guest artists Régine Gaud and Gerard Visser of Lyon, France.
Now in its 18th year, Making A Mark is part of Texas Children’s Cancer Center Arts in Medicine program – a program that provides enjoyable, educational and meaningful artistic opportunities for patients and their families.

Open to children from all across the globe, Making A Mark is a program that provides children who are touched by cancer and blood disorders with an outlet to express themselves through art and writing with the help of professional artists and writers. This break from the hospital routine gives the children a chance to explore their emotions, fears and concerns in an uplifting environment. By controlling the creative process and sharing their individual creativity, the children can begin to heal emotionally and cope with an illness over which they have little control.

Making A Mark is sponsored by The Periwinkle Foundation, an organization committed to developing and providing programs that positively change the lives of children, young adults, and families who are challenged by cancer and other life threatening illnesses at Texas Children’s Hospital. Through their in-kind sponsorship of Texas Children’s Cancer Center, the foundation provides much needed assistance in planning, staffing and executing unique, family-centered programs.

DETAILS: The French artists, presented in collaboration with the Texan-French Alliance for the Arts and its partner SUEZ Energy North America, will spend three weeks working with children at the Cancer Center on artwork which will be on display at the Making A Mark® exhibit. Many of the young artists will be in attendance at the opening to discuss their art with guests.

There were over 100 RSVP's to the event with people coming and going. We made a live concert out of it and rocked the Children's Museum. What a great kick-off to a fun and exciting new album.

Happily Ever After- St. Luke's Book Fair

Performance is at the Book Fair and proceeds of album sales will be donated to St. Luke's Day School.

So I'm 6 months pregnant, squeezed in to my Cinderella costume and jumped on the stage with high-heels to do this concert! It was worth it because we had families and children participating and dancing throughout the entire event in their prince and princess costumes. This Book Fair is not your average book fair! What a great finale for St. Luke's Day School. Proceeds of the album were donated back to the school.
